Event Description

The annual World Boardgaming Championships (WBC) is a gamers convention. ‎"Unlike other conventions... It's not about selling games, it's about playing games!" (Kevin Schlabach)

WBC brings together about 1,500 people from around the world compete to be named champion of their favorite games, participate in open gaming, buy items from vendors, auction and auction store, learn new games, and meet up with old and new friends.

You need not be an expert player. While some WBC gaming events are for experienced players, most are designed for beginners--with scheduled demonstrations--or are coached for first-time players.

There are no hidden fees--just pay to get in and play in open gaming, use the game library, attend a demonstration or seminar, buy or sell at the auction, and participate in any tournament.

We offer extensive previews, after-action reports, and records for all tournaments, including some that go back more than 20 years. There is an annual yearbook.

Pre-convention tournaments start on the previous weekend.
