An open letter to US Military Forces away from their homes this holiday season.

US Sailors, Airmen, Marines, & Soldiers abroad,

I appreciate your hard work, your service, and your commitment to our country. If you will not be home this holiday season, know that my family is thinking of you, praying for you, and we appreciate all that you are doing, all that you are giving. Some may call it a sacrifice, but I consider it a selfless gift- from you to the citizens you protect. As wars rage across the globe in these uncertain times, I will not forget where you are and what you are doing. The freedom to spend time with my family, to go to work, to do what I want, to play games, to choose my religion, to live without fear- that is what you are giving me this year. Thank you so much for such a priceless gift this Christmas and always. I will not waste it or forget. I will not complain about petty things or lose sight of this perspective. And I will not forget those who will never make it home.

So come home safely when you can- we all miss you. And may God bless you and your families this holiday season and always.

I second that!
My family and I are also very appreciative of the soldiers who protect us and our freedoms. Nice post, Byron, and thanks to all for your sacrifices.

I know us wives of those who go out into harm's way at times love those sentiments!
