It's too quiet, again. When should we be seeing Storm Over (that Chinese city)? :)

I *really* want to love Bittereinder but every time I play the British lose within a couple of turns. The cascading DRM's from the initial round of seiges seems to be only beatable by rolling extremely well.
But the game looks lovely...

ATO "made my day" with Gallipoli in "A Fatal Attraction", not an easy conflict to game and subject to some release-jitters but really a very interesting sim. Their support of the Cyberboard community puts them tops in my book!

Congratulations to ATO for another fine season for recognition at the Charles S. Roberts Awards. It truly sets the industry standard.

My favourite ATO games I played so far: The Big Push. Come second is Bittereinder, although I knew little about the Boers War. Both games exhibit the system's ability to simulate the subject war, in a unique, true to the period feel and flavour.

Gee, Jon, who'da thunk it? It seems that you and Joe M. both have indeed drifted our way (as the sign says: Come to the dark side, we have cookies). 23 is pretty much done and out of my hands now and on to the machinations of others, so keep your fingers crossed.. Had a really good playtest report on Lash of the Turk in its folder. Kadesh had the coolest counters in a long time. I hope Craig gets a Charlie for them. OK, off to bed. Keep those cards and letters coming, folks!

Without a doubt my favorite thing from ATO is Campaign Study No. 2, States of Conflict (and no, I'm not biased in any way).

These games just scream to be played and are, as a body of work, the most interesting magazine games I get...and there's some serious competition from Joe Miranda over there at Decision Games! Just put back KADESH from a few solitaire excursions on my gaming table...a huge improvement from the old COMMAND game of the same name, and that wasn't a bad design at the time!

I am particularly looking forward to issue 23. The main game is an area of history I know little about, but I am sure will captivate a portion of both my gaming and research time (I really like games which have both naval and land included). Also, with the expansion for AFA being included, I look forward to hearing how gamers like the added items which could not be included with the game.

OK, here I am guys, ready for any brickbats or bouquets you might have. Next up, I am told will be issue 23. Looks like it will edge out the Cartwheel Annual. My favorite game --hee hee -- Cactus Throne. That is until Lash of the Turk is released. See you all at WBC. Thanks for the votes in the Charlies. We appreciate it and look for more goodies in 2009! I will be on here as much as I can remember to check it.
