A BGG friend suggested I post this question here.
I have set myself the goal of gaming the battles of the War of German Liberation on the actually 200th anniversary dates this year. So for example, I am currently studying the rules for La Bataille de Lutzen and plan to fight at least one of the solitaire scenarios on May 2nd.
The next battle would be Bautzen on May 18th. The question is, why aren't there any games that cover this battle? It was a big battle and Napoleon's victory there precipitated the Armistice, during which the Austrians were persuaded to join the Allied cause.
I have some of the Dresden 20 and the Kulm expansion from VPG and plan to acquire the rest of the Germany 20 titles over the summer. I intend to wrap things up with Napoleon at Leipzig (3rd ed.) this October.
Does anyone know of a game that covers Bautzen? If I still had my old copy of The Struggle of Nations I could sort of manage it at the operational level, but not what I have in mind.
Thanks for your ideas,
'nuf sed.
I have been spending quite a bit of time lately with Napoleon and the Crossroads and The Habit of Victory. Both are excellent, excellent titles, full of challenge and excitement. There is a Vassal module for NAC; if anyone out there would like to play a live campaign on Vassal, just email me at markacres@comcast.net
