How is Pollilur coming?  Still think you could organize an independent playtest of the "big" version you want it to be and let the testers do the selling for you!  Have you looked at IMPERIAL STUGGLE?  It looks really cool and finally does a strategic treatment of the War for America Independence as a global struggle abstract as it is!  We need to play that someday--runs from the War of the Spanish Succession to the Anglo-French War of 1778-1783 (the game ends in 1789 when the Bastille is stormed).
