At age 12 I picked up my copy of Panzer Leader. That cover just drew me in, and I've been hooked on that game ever since. I played a couple other games and PZL during my teens, but then stopped playing for over 25 years. Now I'm back in and playing again and loving it!
Your favorite game(s):
Panzer Leader, Combat Commander, A Victory Lost, the original AH Battle of the Bulge (for its simplicity), Ardennes '44.
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Eric - Job search complete! I start with General Dynamics the 25th "Inshallah!" Sure, I'd like to try another game with you - pick one and we'll see if I've grown more clever in the intervening months!
i re-checked the Game Sign-Ups on the expo site like on a weekly base. The last check showed me, he did it: Game Sign Ups shows, that John Alsen will setup a "Panzer Grenadier large scenario". I guess, this would be the place to be, to get in touch with the Panzer Grenadier game system. Let's show up there, say hello to John and get some playtime there!
Hi Eric - noticed your comment about the original AH Battle of the Bulge - I presume you mean the 1965 version with the red and blue counters? If there's a Vassal or Cyberboard module out there I'd be interested in a pbem or realtime game.
I won't be going to Consimworld this year (I'll just be getting back fron the Bahamas with my friend and her 2 girls), but hope to get there one of these days. My last convention was when Origins was in Philadelphia and I was able to drive there with my brother and spend day. Have fun when you go!
I haven't played that one in many years but it is an all time fave so I still keep a copy in my collection. I Just used to play it alot. Kinda tuff to do that on solitaire new. I wasn't out of the hobby for 25 years it just that I have been periods of time when I have been working FT and going to school at night when I wasn't very active in the hobby
I like the BoB'91 Smithsonian edition, which makes for a good starter into the hobby. Leaving The Hobby for 25 years???? Man, you lived thru hard times indeed ;-) Welcome back to the best hobby one can have!
