The Games of War: A Treasury of Rules for Battles with Toy Soldiers, Ships, and Planes by John Bobek
Any photos you see involving miniatures are from games using miniature figures and my book, The Games of War: A Treasury of Rules for Battles with Toy Soldiers, Ships, and Planes. Any markers, particularly red, indicate that either the figure resting on top of it is dead, or it is in lieu of a "dead body." Smoke is indicated by cotton. The typical time available to me for these games is from 2:45 till 4 after school, or from 3 till 7 pm at my house. If you have any questions about any game or picture, please ask.
The drawings were done by me for wargame magazines back in the late 60's or early 70's. I was for a time the editor of the International Federation of Wargaming's magazine, the International Wargamer. The old time photos are from games at UIC or at various conventions, most notably the Lake Geneva GenCon's.
Any photos with words stretched across them are available at CafePress.com as shirts, bags, hats, buttons, and various sundry items.

John, I don't play miniatures, so it would be tough for me to answer that question from any angle. There are stuff on Flames of War that I know of, besides that, I know Nil.
Hi John: :) In my case, I re-engaged with CSW Social during the last round of releases that Tiller/HPS did, and was outside of anything happening at BGG. I had a group here that had links going over to my site that I wanted to change around.
So here I am now, known as a BGG personality ( despite what I considered to basically be my version of glorified lurking), and I do see the humour in it.
In the end it is all about the hobby, isn't it?
I need to have look at your book, I remember seeing a copy for sale on Amazon whilst looking at some Heroscape stuff.
Do the rules run fast? I notice some youngsters in the pictures are they the players?
Robbie, indeed, as I was a wee lad then.
I will write you later via email.
