Your introduction to consim gaming:
My dad owned Tactics 2 and Panzer Leader. Through the years I tried various games like Storm Over Arnhem & Squad Leader with little progress.
A couple years ago, my Eyro-gaming friend introduced me to BGG.com. Through this I learned about Combat Commander. I'm hooked. The perfect level of complexity, scale, and narrative. I've recently purchased Conflict of Heroes, hoping for a great game with combined arms.

I'm retired now w/ some time on my hands. Combat Commander sounds good someday. Drop me a note when you have some time and we'll schedule it in. Re: the pic I'm on the right. We were in Bag near the airport off the BIOP highway. If you ever get a chance to visit there skip it.

I'm an old wargamer from the 60's and play a lot of AH games. Since you live in the neighborhood you interested in a game or 2? John

And now...Combat Commander 1.9 was released for Vassal. Let me know if you need any help getting that up and running...it is a bit different from CC 1.8.

Todd, it was a pleasure working through Vassal...if you do want to see how well I did and actually play a game ... let me know. I am sure we can find the time (and the scenario) to try...

Yes. Check out "Fighting Formations" on BGG (when it's back up). It is his current project and is coming along nicely. Lots of fun to play, very tense in terms of available assets vs. mission objectives.

Welcome, Todd! I hope you find local opponents for CC and CoH. They are both great games and lots of fun to play.
