Dick Winters, Rest in Peace

It was announced that one of the United States Army's most famous combat officers died on January 2.

Major Richard Winters is known to many as the commander of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, the inspiration for the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers.  I use episodes of this series to teach my Experience of Modern War class at…

Tide at Sunrise After Action Report

Over the New Year's Day weekend I played the new Multi-Man Publishing (MMP) game Tide at Sunrise of the Russo-Japanese 1904-1905 war but  without the optional naval rules with my friend and the owner of the game Tom Swider.

The real war was mostly an imperial dispute over control of Manchuria centering on the port of Port Arthur in the south east and several cites in the north western side of the map. The Russians begin in control of most of the map but the Japanese…

Point 2 Point 43 has been recorded!

Okay, it's only kind of news, as I will be editing it, but there are some significant aspects of this:

1. It is just me. I hope I carry things well enough until Scott and I can get back together.

Game: ASL

Scenario: Buchholz Station (I)

My Interview With Alan Emrich at Victory Point Games

I thought I'd share the links to the interview I did with Alan over at VPG. I'm doing my best to include as much wargaming coverage as I can at The Gaming Gang without without driving off the Euro gamers. ;)
