Normandy by SPI

I have been successful in purchasing an unpunched good conditioned Normandy game. i used to have this years and years ago, and I played it loads of times...one of my favourties. I will scan all the parts and used the scanned items rather than the original - keeps them good.
I also got an unpunched Mechwar '77. I used to have that as well, but I could never get into it, but I plan to now :)

Four Battles of the Ancient World

I have successfully won this on ebay, and I can't wait to receive it. Because it is still unpunched, I may well scan the counter sheets and maps and use them, rather than the originals, just so it can stay in good condition

Terrain for map making

Anybody got any good places to go to get Terrain for making maps? I have found one or two decent places, but I would like others to give me a wide variety of choice

Map Making - any ideas?

What programs are good for making hex maps. I would prefer one than can allocate numbers, dots or crosshairs to each hex.

ASL Stuff

I really like to see other people’s stuff. It just looks cool to see someone’s games on their shelf, or how they have organized their counters, or…whatever. So here are some pictures of my stuff and how I organize one of the coolest and best games ever created.

Here is my ASL shelf with my boards, core modules, HASLs, magazines, and ASL SK’s. I…

An Avalon Hill Dream Come True

I am in heaven....I have just managed to lay my hands on 9 Avalon Hill games in PDF format. probably the most exciting one out of the lot is The Longest Day! The others are 1914, Bull Run, Caeser Battle of Alesia, Caeser legions, Chancellorville, Dragon Pass, The Arab-Israeli wars and Titan. I am going to have some fun playing these....this is of course after I have had the fun of printing and cutting out all of the counters...lmao

Origins this year....THIRTY (30) Years ago TO THE DAY !!!

I went to this year's Origins. 2010. and coincidently this year fell on the same dates that I went to my first Origins at Widener College, Chester Pennsylvannia, and had a 'Life Moment' !!!

That first Origins was MAGNIFICENT ! ! ! I got to meet and talk to James F Dunnigan, Redmond A Simonsen, Jack Radey, Gary Gygax, Kevin Zucker ( I think, I believe so....Zucker, that is; The SPI table were into games -might have been Hessel) ,

BUT, I did make it Origins this…

Today's Games Owe No One An Apology

Those of us who came of gaming age in the seventies necessarily have nostalgia for that time. I'm definitely an aficionado of those older games, especially Avalon Hill and SPI, the true towers of wargaming's history. Recently in fact I returned to eBay to buy a copy of Drive on Washington, and from a private collector I'm buying Red… Continue
