I was wondering what people set up to play this week with the 75th anniversary of D-Day so very much in the news.
After some consideration I passed over Conflict Games’ Overlord for LnL:T Heroes of Normandy, especially the “Flash,Thunder” scenario which gives a good solitaire game.

As a high school teacher, one of the things I've never heard (in 31 years) is a 16 y.o. female student describe a wargame as (and I quote) "The most awesome game ever...." She was talking about Napoleon (the AH version) that she played at game club "pizza and games" night. (see my last blog....)
How would one react? Well, I just so happened to have a new copy of the CG version I'd picked up last summer at a store clearnace in Santa Clara (for $5!). So student "K" is now the proud…Continue

It's been a while since I logged into the CSW Social site. Thought I'd take this opportunity to post about my new endeavor, Canvas Temple Publishing. Essentially it's a low-key vanity press for me and some friends to publish games we want to publish (rather than what anyone else wants :-). A number of friends have signed up and given me designs, and so far we've run 3 successful Kickstarter campaigns, with another running right now.
Our first game, which is now shipping, is…Continue

A while ago I thought it might be fun to take all the SCS games I have on Vassal and play them as one continuous campaign.
I will play every scenario, starting with those in Guadalajara and continue in chronological order right up to the last scenario of Bastogne. All scenario results will be kept, keeping a sort of "running score" of Axis and Allied progress up to the end of WW2.
Each scenario will also be posted on this blog as a "War Diary", taking the form of…Continue

Hey guys, I'm working on a strategic game on the American Revolution.
Can anyone recommend where I can get a .jpg file or .png of a blank hex grid? Any suggestions appreciated.Hex
Acquistato un paio di settimane fà, Skies above the Reich, della GMT, mi ha assolutamente preso!!
Veramente un ottimo solitario sui combattimenti aerei della WWII che videro coinvolti B-17 e caccia tedeschi Bf109.Un must!

A recent "game club pizza night" I hosted for my high school group found these two slugging it out, playing an old AH copy of Napoleon. By the end of the game there were a dozen other students surrounding the table witnessing the game's conclusion. I'm not saying that the "graying of the hobby" isn't a problem, but perhaps there's a bit of hope.…
