Great Service

I just wanted to give kudos to Michael Dean of Fine Games out of North Bend, OR. I just did business with them and, in addition to their good prices, Michael gave prompt, courteous and personal service. Not only that, he shipped the product really quickly. So, thanks a lot Michael. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas.

CCA

I finally played Command and Colors Ancients. I was wrong with me not playing this before....it took playing Memoir '44 to change my mind. Played the battle of Cissa in 218 BC from C3i from 2008 as my intro game - what a hoot. Started out with a 3 to 0 lead on the Romans due to some dumbness on my part but rallied and won at the end going away 6-3.

If I write it, will they read it?

Recently I've been pondering actually publishing the rules of my game WW2 The Big One. There are nine manuals plus additional material and enough of that to equal a tenth. The current method of delivery is in the form of MS Word documents. It occurred to me that this work deserves to live beyond the playing of the game.

Thirty years of work has gone into this project, writing and revising. That is four or five complete re-writes as new ideas and concepts come up. I think the finished… Continue

Geomorphic Vs. "Real" Terrain Wargame Maps?

Which is preferred? Does it honestly matter all that much to wargamers?

Historical terrain (shown here in the mapsheet for the HASL VALOR OF THE GUARDS on the left)? Or geomorphic generic terrain (shown on the right in ADVANCED SQUAD LEADER STARTER KIT…

Not Your Grandfather's PANZER LEADER

MMP/IGS game FURY IN THE EAST

In the Special Edition #3 of MMP's OPERATIONS magazine, one of the games contained therein is yet another offering on Operation BARBAROSSA, entitled FURY IN THE EAST .

Given the title, I had visions of the Civil War, imagining a companion game to Battleline's/Avalon Hill's old classic, FURY IN THE WEST, for those who remember it! Ho hum, I thought. How many games do I have on this topic? Why…

New Insights Into Cyber Attack on Iran's Nuclear Program

In September, the BBC reported that the Iran nuclear facility at Bushehr had been infected with an extremely complex computer worm termed Stuxnet. The Iranians claimed at the time that it did no damage. According to a story the Fox News web site published on November 26, the truth is different,… Continue
