Hexdraw 1.1 on going work , todays results

As the response is positiv all in all, I start working on the 1.1 update Version.

Today I realised an idea by Ian Wedge. With the 'Random factor ' Roads and Hexsides can be drawn more easily.

I am still looking for a MAC, and did some research about Mono. Generally I hope a MAC version could be realized.

HexDraw 1.0 Released !


I released Hexdraw 1.0 today.

Get the Trial Version at :
http://www.hexdraw.com/HexDrawSetup.exe

Installation is easy. just start HexDrawSetup.exe
Its possible the setup downloads a needed file from Microsoft.

Hexdraw 1.0 on going work , todays results

Drawing the included Sample Map. Added some labels. Writing manual with Jeff's help . Tested setup for trial and full.

Hexdraw 1.0 on going work ,ASL Terrain Lib, todays results, stone buildings, bridge, crag...



valley, marsh texture, grain texture, wooden rubble, stone rubble. I think it is enough terrain in the library.

Everyone can do this better than me. The curch is inspired by a church here in vienna viewd with google earth.

The bridge is devided in two parts for use with wider roads.



I think about a second smaller library with miscellaneous terrain . to bring in the textures iI collected.

Hexdraw 1.0 on going work ,todays results, observable items in the lists

I did some programming on the lists to the left.
All items now appear bigger and overlays are shown as image in a shrinked size.
Naming '1Hex 2 g wooden' a wooden building on one hex with 2 gable.
Beginning to work with Stone Buildings.
Crag, Bridges, Debris Steeple and Grain are on my list

writing the manual was annoying. A strang form of communication.

The manual is now at proofreading. (or is it 'in' or 'on' ?)

Ok, it consts of 14 pages with several pictures from dialogs.



Added two functions:

selcet a library in the 'New Map' dialog. This loads all terrain from a library file.

And select a ground color in the 'New Map'… Continue

Hexdraw 1.0 on going work ,ASL Terrain Lib, todays results, some wooden buildings



I dont believe it by myself but this was simple. Ok, it takes a while, the big one takes an hour or so

The 'golden' ones are my very first drawings with artweaver and a very old version of paintshop pro. Both programs are freeware and handle only with pixels and have no vectors or layers. I am not an illustrator.



I did a two way printing test today and it was successful. BTW ASL board hexes are not 20mm !

Maybe this gullys are the most fidly thing, in case of drawing and also placing on the map.

It is an Overlay and also an Underlay. I will get some more gullys on monday.

Additional there are some new Hill-colors and buildings.



Added two new buttons wich alow random rotation in steps of one or 60 degrees.

Hexdraw 1.0 Mapmaking software for Wargamers .

This Blog is about the ongoing work on my shareware Hexdraw.

Comments are verry welcome. They lead me the way see things from another point of view.
At now we are working with the ASL Terrain Lib. This activity is a result of a critical comment.
