Just discovered the joys of the COIN system games from GMT stable.
Ran shy of these as did not seem to be 'proper' wargames and the fact that they were generally 4 player but after acquiring Fire In The Lake, and being pleasantly surprised that they generate a good 2 player experience, I am now a firm believer (cue Monkees song) having not been this enthused by a game system/series since Combat Commander !
What a heady mix of combat, politics, resource management, events, period flavour, decisions and just good plain fun coupled with excellent components :-)
Now additionally have Colonial Twilight and A Distant Plain and I suspect Pendragon, Falling Skies and Liberty Or Death might be in pipeline.

What's great about the series is how common much of the game system is from title to title, so it's easy to transition from one to another. But that doesn't mean it's easy to win! I've got GANDHI on my "to play" pile at the moment....
Nice job. I haven't had a chance to dive into COIN series myself and I know it's not for everyone -- but for those (majority of gamers) I know they love it.
