I remain pleasantly surprised by the way that people remember my old articles on Firepower from the Avalon Hill General. Some of them go back thirty years, and people remember them and still play some of the scenarios.
Therefore I am extremely happy to see Darren Breidigan's efforts to scan these articles and make them available again on Boardgame Geek. These are done with my express approval, indeed encouragement.
The first one is "The Pact: Central European Conflict and Firepower," originally in The General Volume 24, Issue 1, in 1987.
Read, and enjoy. I'll let you know as more go online.

Here are two more articles from the dim and distant eighties, and the pages of The General. The one on Nicaragua won the Editor's Choice Award, and netted me a free lifetime subscription, at least until Avalon Hill's lifetime ended.

Here is the very first article in the series, written in 1985. It is also significant in that it is based on the research I did for my Masters thesis.

Here is another, "A Flame in the Gulf: The Iran-Iraq War and Firepower," from The General Volume 26, Issue 3.
