I have seen this question before but I am still curious to see what people say:

What is the most $ you have ever payed for a game?

For me, I think it was for the 4th ed. of The Russian Campaign.  I got it from a brick-and-mortor store shortly after it came out, and IIRC it totalled after taxes to about $120 CDN.  Not a huge amount by todays standards, but that was around 6 years ago or so.  But based on the number of times I have played it, it was worth every penny I spent.  In that respect, it was cheap when compared to the vast number of games I have bought but never played.

I'm sure many Many people have payed more than that for games.  (I'm a bit of a cheapskate.)  Lets hear about it!

Most expensive game played is War in the Pacific 2ed by DG. $420 plus SH. I'm still try'n to justify that one.

I am with Lewis Goldberg on this one. I have trawled the used game market to get the games I want, and for the many I wanted to try. Probably the most expensive game I have bought since getting back into wargaming is Blitzkrieg - £25. Not an expensive game as such.

Being a solo gamer, it does reduce the amount of games for me to choose from, but there are loads out there that are reasonably solo compatible. Plus, I also wanted to get some of the games I used to have when I was younger, and the used game market has been a god send for that.

I got into OCS after I got Baltic Gap in November 2009. I bought Case Blue  UP for around $220. Next I got Korea/The Forgotten War  UP $180. Last August MMP announced they had found a few copies of DAK 2 , another $150. So far I've played them all and considering the prices there going for I have no complaints. I also got a punched but complete copy of Tunisia $25 and Burma was a Christmas gift. OCS aint cheap. My preorders for Guderian's Blitzkrieg II and Proud Monster Deluxe are coming up in another month or so (about $225 for both).

In comparison when I was a kid I bought both Bismarck and Afrika Korps for $10 at the mall!

$300 for a mint copy of the deluxe25th Anniversary  reprint of "Divine Right". In fact I now own two copies. So I would be willing to give away one copy.

I think I picked up Breakout: Normandy in shrink off eBay about a week before L2 announced a remake.  Let us never speak of this again.

Recently The Battle for Normandy

Years ago Omaha: The Bloody Beach from The Gamers, new I think it was near $60, that was a lot for a high school kid back then.

Oh, I won't touch the high cost used market.

I still look for bargains, but just not seeing them other than online -

and hunting too hard isn't worth my time.

I knew how tough LGG would be to get once its time was past though.

Definitely glad to have pumped out the cash then - even though times

were kinda tight.

When I was a young wargamer, I purchased both WitP and WiE in the store, which were both around $50.  Inflation-adjusted, those are $200-300 games.  However, as an older gamer, I have worked the used game market relentlessly to get my games, as I do have a large family to feed and can't justify dropping large sums on games.  That hasn't stopped me from acquiring monster games :-)

Somewhere in the $120 range for La Grande Guerre (new).

Should bust that once the new WIF comes out.

At least in one batch.

Paid (far) more for Magic overall.

Or, if you want board games only, SFB.

I don't want to try adding up either of those.

Too depressing.

Streets of Stalingrad third edition -- If I recall, that was $110.00.
