I gave it a play last night for quite a while, and it plays just like PG.
It did make me think that all they have done is given PG a graphical facelift. The scenarios and campaign paths are all pretty similar to PG, which is a little disappointing, as I would have thought they may have added some extra ones, even incorporate the Allied General scenarios.
They have added a few nice touches, but nothing major to make it stand out above and beyond PG.
All in all, it is a good game, but if you are an avid PG fan ( and you still have a copy of the original), there is probably not a great deal new here for you.
It seems the makers have taken a leaf out of the Decision Games book, enhance the graphics, tweak a few bits here and there, then re-package it at a decent price.
New money for old rope me thinks.
Now that the initial excitement has worn off, and I have given this game some serious playing time,I have changed my initial rating for this game - I now give it 7/10. It is still a good game, but they could have done a bit more with it. Shame.
