The last half of 2015, was pretty dire for me in wargaming terms.I hardly played any solo gaming at home!

Changes in free time to solo wargame at home has dramatically changed, and in the wrong direction, meaning I have less continuous time to play.

I also got very exasperated at having to learn new rule sets for every game I wanted to play, and knowing that it would be difficult to submerge myself into the game due to time constraints meant I felt it was useless to even start.

I know I could have always played a game which has numerous scenarios that use the same rules, like Panzer Grenadier, but I fear I would have gotten bored after the third or fourth game.

During November onwards, I started buying non-wargames, many of which were very solo suitable, Race fro the Galaxy being one such game. I also bought some of DG's Mini Folio solitaire games like Border War, and these all combined to really rejuvenated my attitude towards playing wargames.

I also have been following the post by some members on the Wargamers group on Facebook, and their dedication and enthusiasm have really ignited the spark of desire back in me.

So now I am in the process of setting out my stall, games I want to play and goals that I want to achieve.

I know time spent in any one session of game playing could vary from 1 to 3 hours, but so what if it is an hour, depending on the game I could get even a couple of turns in. I will also take notes of thoughts and tactics and the general state of play each time I leave the game, so I have and easy way of remembering as the what the hell I was doing!

Maybe my time away from wargaming last year was needed, almost like R&R. Now it is time to go back to the action!!
