As some of my pals here already know I leave tomorrow for a month in the United States (my retirement present to myself) in the company of my old and good friend from Sydney, Robbie (miniatures gamer and Civil War buff)...we intend to among other things visit many of the famous battlefields and landmarks of the US..for example Washington DC,Gettysburg,Chancellorsville,Sharpsburg etc. are on our list as are other palces like the Alamo and USS Intrepid in New York...along the way I hope to call in on one or two of you although time may be a factor..from time to time I also hope to place here (internet connections permitting) some photographs and impressions of what we see and give you some idea of where we are at and where we are going to be..so stay tuned

An offer I can't refuse

Steve, when you get to Dallas and head to San Antonio let me know. I will jump in the car and meet you guys at the Alamo.

The weather in Austin has been full of rainy summer showers, and slightly muggy days. All welcome relief, so you might catch a break in SA and enjoy some nice weather!  Oh and I'm buying all the beers in San Antonio!
