So, has anyone taken the plunge (or planning to) and ordered any instock games from GMT during their 50% sale?

If so, what have you ordered or plan to order?

I bought Fading Glory and No Retreat North Africa. Not much else really caught my eye that was in stock.

Very nice, especially as I understand games are #$(*@! expensive in Australia.

That was a great deal. I bought two games. Well, to be accurate, one game and one expansion of another game.

I missed the sale by a few days, but emailed GMT and they let me manually place an order with a 50% discount (better than the 35% I get from Coolstuffinc). I choose next War Korea (expensive game so more discount), Blood & Roses, and Panzer Expansion 1. I had mentioned beng interested in a panzer reprint, and was told they had 2 copies left and would sell me 1 for $72. This is great sinc ehey sell on Ebay auctions for between $105 and $175 dollars.

Despite choosing economy shipping, the games were delivered by airmail within 2 weeks to Australia. Did somebody make a mistake at GMT? Anyway, I was very happy with my purchases.

I got Ran, Hoplite, and Blood & Roses. The new miniatures rules, Ronin, from Osprey/Slitherine has gotten me interested in Japanese warfare. Ancient players have been waiting a long time for something like Hoplite. I found Men of Iron to be just OK, but the OBs and terrain for the War of the Roses battles have always been unclear, and I often buy games for all the research that goes into them (intellectual property). Yes, I have too many unplayed games, and yes, I tried to resist the temptation.

I agree Wayne, all the unplayed games I have are indeed a pile of potential, but my unplayed games vastly outnumber played, which is why I tried to put a ban on buying new games this year. But between the GMT sale and buying Blood & Roses, that ban has failed.

The upside is that I feel I have more than enough in my collection that I do not need much more, not unless silly sales or a game becomes available in a period which fascinates me, like the ones above.

Such is the fun of wargaming - collecting then playing, at some point...ha ha ha

I always look at my un-played pile as potential. If I did not make the call to buy then I may have missed a game I would like later on. I am excited about my purchases and hope to find time this summer to really get into some of the games that are un-played at this point.

I guess. There was one last year too. And the regular fall sale means everything I buy not on
preorder is 50% off (at least), from GMT. Adding three more games to the unplayed pile
didn't seem that necessary.

Enrico - I was is the same predicament, but I gave in too. Sales like that are not ones to be missed!

Tried very hard to resist. The big pile of unplayed games should have kept me in check,
but I just couldn't manage.

Will be getting Iron & Oak, Rebel Raiders, and the France '40 Combat Commander expansion.
The first two will probably end up in the sale bin someday, but I just couldn't hold off
for the double bonus of some future sale.

Good haul David. I was so nearly tempted to get Navajo Wars
