Time to get Rid of the Monsterous Classics

Our group prefers playing games, and I have a collection of 'the unplayable'.

We have had many discussions, and we have found we prefer games we can play in not more than a few sessions (4-6 at most for about 20-40 hours TPT).

Recently, a lot of Great Wargames new to the hobby have come out, and we've pretty much decided that many of the old Monsters are simply not worth the time to play, have become obsolete, or are simply too big.

Now, some might not agree (Chuck) and many have been replaced (I prefer GMT's Battle of Waterloo over WV, for example).

Some might find these worth having for collection purposes, but, excepting CNA, these are played copies of the games - we did play them nearly 30 years ago.

So, if anyone is interested, the following games are up for trade.

Campaign North Africa
Terrible Swift Sword - Punched, complete, SPI soapbox.
Bloody April - Box is covered in crumbling plastic laminate, but contents are excellent - punched, complete.
Wellington's Victory - both an SPI Z-pack and TSR's release.
La Battaile De la Moskowa - Marshall Enterprises.
War In Europe - Z-packs, punched, complete.
War in the Pacific - SPI version - Z-pack - punched, complete.

I have recently unloaded The Longest Day and SPI's Wacht Am Rhein to good old Chuck Sutherland.

-----------

What am I looking for?

AH's GCACW games
Napoleon at Leipzig - Clash of Arms most recent release of it.
Breakout Normandy - AH

And, others - checkout my wishlist on BGG.

It just so happens I got a copy of Next War via eBay - the only problem - I am missing 10 counters.

No help from me on those titles - sorry! As to the Next War. the guy that I got it from sent it in such a mess I have no idea what's there and what isn't. I couldn't bring my self to ship it on to you in the same condition!

Have not got rid of a single one yet. It's hard, man. No rush, really. Did you unload that Next War you wrote me about?

I'd consider cash - but their are some games I am looking for that I am encountering great difficulty in finding for a reasonable price. Maybe you can help (or others).

GMT's This Accursed Civil War, Sweden Fights On, and Ardennes '44.

I would like to also get hold of AH's Breakout Normandy and Turning Point Stalingrad.

More titles from AH's GCACW would be nice - I only have SJW.

What's retirement? I'll probably have to work even longer than my dad, and he retired half an hour after he died.

I know that feeling exactly as you express it!
