Hey thanks Smitty! The game is much more streamlined now than what you saw, and plays a lot shorter than it did also. It may still need a little more "polish" but It has come a long way from where it was. I'm hopeful that Academy likes it.
There seems to be a growing number of us on here :-) I'm planning to put an annoucement when my game comes out in the Alumni Newsletter and make reference to Consimworld to see how many folks are already regular visitors to this site.
In regards to my desire for the deluxe version of Twilight Struggle; I have only seen pictures of it thus far. I wish I had a compelling reason to upgrade to deluxe but have a tough time finding local opponents for the 2008 version that I own. IMHO the mounted board is the biggest reason for upgrading as cheap-o cardboard version has a nasty tendency to warp. I must say that I actually prefer the graphics from the old map better than the deluxe map board. I believe that there are new cards for the deluxe version, although I don't know anything about them. I love my copy of TS but have to admit there is room for tweaking with some of the cards.
Thanks! I tend to BGG new games for info but Consimworld really seems to have come on over the last few years (more visuals etc). I see you are about to play Asia Engulfed....have you played Europe engulfed before?
