Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I was in high school, and was 1st board on the school chess team. Some of the other chess team members invited me to play wargames with them. My first was the old Anzio Beachhead with the black & white map and the assymetrical sequence of play. I got my but kicked but was hooked. My next game was U.S.N., which I also got clobbered in.
Your favorite game(s):
Europe Engulfed, Asia Engulfed, FAB: Bulge, Leaping Lemmings, Twilight Struggle, Command & Colors: Ancients, A Victory Lost, Hammer of the Scots, Ardennes '44, Tigers in the Mist, Across 5 Aprils, Combat Commander, Chinese Farm, Wagram, Battle of Nations, We the People, 1960: The Making of the President, and Destruction of Army Group Center.

Ever looking for a game or some play testers - the Eden War Room is not that far from Durham.

I used the same addictive substance you and Chad used for Combat Commander (multiple meaningful decision points infused with fun).

I'm glad you are enjoying the game Kai :)

Rick, seriously... did you dust the FAB blocks with some addictive substance? Even when I'm not playing, I'm thinking of ways to try to beat Chad at your game.

Thanks. I just think it's odd that I can't locate his/her page and the name doesn't show up on the Members page. My curiosity was piqued and then frustrated. Grrrrrr. ;0)

Sorry Kai, I don't know. I simply accepted him when he requested to be my friend. I figured he'd let us all know atsome point.

Hey, Rick... I got a "friend request" from someone named Hotspur O'Toole. When I clicked on the pic (just the grey silhouette actually), this person shows you as being his/her friend. But I can't locate Hotspur in the members file. Any clue who this may be?

Not that I can't use all the friends I can get, but I like to at least know with whom I am dealing.

I'm glad you tasted the system my friend. Unfortunately, I can only afford so many conventions a year, and my trip to GMT West was subsidized (paid for) by a few California friends that really wanted me to attend.

Who was I to say no?

Rick, just coming back from GMT East... Mike Johnson and me played two games of FAB... First one we really messed up a few rules, luckily for us Marty Sample and John Foley were there.

On the second game, we really tasted the system... We had fun and it was bloody. I figure we took 5 hours and we were sure to be able to cut an hour off from that with experience. You gonna explain to me how you got to GMT west and not East ;-)
